A total of 365 deals (mergers and acquisitions, private equity, and venture financing deals) were announced in the travel and tourism sector globally during the first half (H1) of this year, which was a decline of 38.8 percent compared to 596 deals announced during the same period in the previous year, revealed GlobalData, a leading data and analytics company.

New research has revealed the safest (and most dangerous) holiday destinations in the world. The study, conducted by security experts at ADT, looked at the crime index score, number of burglaries, the number of police officers and the percentage of people who are worried about being mugged or robbed in UK holiday hotspots to determine the safest (and most dangerous) holiday destinations. 

Based on the results of the passenger survey carried out by the Cyprus Statistical Service, revenue from tourism reached EUR217,6 million this April compared to EUR185,1 million in the corresponding month of 2022, recording an increase of 17,6 percent.

Cyprus arrivals of tourists reached 420.076 in May of this year compared to 315.018 in May 2022, recording an increase of 33,3 percent. For the period of January – May of the current year, arrivals of tourists totalled 1.156.705 compared to 849.058 in the corresponding period of 2022, recording an increase of 36,2 percent.

Based on the results of the Passenger Survey carried out by the Statistical Service, revenue from tourism in Cyprus reached EUR97,8 million in March 2023 compared to EUR69,1 million in the corresponding month of the previous year, recording an increase of 41,5 percent.

On the basis of the results of the Cyprus Passenger Survey carried out by the Statistical Service, revenue from tourism reached EUR56,6 million this February compared to EUR39,6 million in the corresponding month of 2022, recording an increase of 42,9 percent.
