The arrivals of tourists to Cyprus reached 511.387 in August of this year compared to 451.133 in August 2022, recording an increase of 13,4 percent. For the period of January – August, arrivals of tourists totalled 2.648.795 compared to 2.127.172 in the corresponding period of 2022, recording an increase of 24,5 percent.

The global travel and tourism industry experienced a notable decline in deal activity during January-August of this year, marking a substantial year-on-year (YoY) decrease of 36.2 percent compared to the same period in 2022.

In 2022, 82 percent of recent graduates (ISCED 2011 levels 3-8) aged 20-34 in the EU were employed.  From 2014 to 2022, the employment rate for this group rose by seven percentage points (pp), showing a consistent rising trend interrupted only by the COVID-19 pandemic.

Cyprus arrivals of tourists reached 523.718 in July compared to 454.657 in July 2022, recording an increase of 15,2 percent.

The Cyprus Department of Meteorology during this July has reported particularly high temperatures prevailed in the island and in general throughout the Southern European region.

In 2022, the EU produced 3.2 billion litres of ice cream, marking a five percent increase from 2021.
