The travel and tourism sector witnessed the announcement of 93 deals globally during the first two months of 2024, an year-on-year (YoY) decline of 22.5 percent compared to the announcement of 120 deals during the same period in 2023, revealed GlobalData, a leading data and analytics company.

In 2023, the number of nights spent in EU tourist accommodation reached 2.9 billion. This represents a 6.1 percent increase compared with 2022 and a 1.4 percent increase compared with the pre-pandemic 2019.

Based on the results of the Passengers Survey carried out by the Statistical Service, revenue from tourism for Cyprus reached EUR113,7 million in November 2023 compared to EUR96,4 million in the corresponding month of 2022, recording an increase of 17,9 percent.
