The awards have been in operation on the island since 2009 and represent a private initiative as part of Haji-Ioannou vision to promote and encourage bi-communal cooperation and lasting peace between Greek-Cypriots and Turkish-Cypriots.

The main objective of the prize is to support the socio-economic relations between the two communities.

All forms of cooperation are eligible to apply in the areas of business, arts, sports and life.

Application for the award can be submitted through the Stelios Philanthropic Foundation Facebook page, after joining the Stelios Bi- Communal Awards 2017 group.

The winners will be announced at a ceremony held in October in Nicosia.
