The European Community Shipowners’ Associations (ECSA), representing the national shipowners’ associations of the European Union, held a board of directors meeting on October 04 in Brussels, where Themis Papadopoulos, president, Cyprus Shipping Chamber and Thomas A. Kazakos, represented the Cyprus Shipping Industry as part of the Cyprus delegation.

The Cyprus Shipping Chamber, as the official representative of the Cyprus Shipping Industry, paid tribute to World Maritime Day 2018, which has been established and celebrated by the International Maritime Organisation (IMO) every year at the end of September, with a dedicated member’s meeting on September 24, at the Four Seasons Hotel in Limassol.

Construction has progressed steadily in August at Ayia Napa Marina, Cyprus, where piling works for various buildings have been completed or are near to completion, with the East Tower and essential buildings leading the way.

Tom Lord, assistant marina manager, Limassol Marina, was recently awarded Certified Marina Manager (CMM) accreditation by the British Marine Federation and the Global Marina Institute.

Ayia Napa Marina’s construction proceeded extremely fast during July, despite the intense heat.

Limassol Marina hosted a tuna fishing charity tournament in commemoration of three associates of Cyprus Fishing Magazine to raise funds for Cyprus Anti-Cancer Society.
