The European Commission recently announced the four shortlisted destinations for the European Destination of Excellence (EDEN) 2023 award. The EDEN initiative rewards the best achievements in sustainable tourism and green transition practices in smaller destinations across Europe. 

On the basis of the results of the passenger survey carried out by the Statistical Service, revenue from tourism in Cyprus reached EUR292,7 million in June of this year compared to EUR135,8 million in June 2021, recording an increase of 115,5 percent.

The Cyprus arrivals of tourists reached 454.657 in July of this year compared to 297.308 in July 2021, recording an increase of 52,9 percent.

On the basis of the results of the passenger survey carried out by the statistical service, revenue from Cyprus tourism reached EUR221,0 million in May of this year, compared to EUR76,7 million in May 2021. 

A total number of 121.146 residents of Cyprus returned from a trip abroad in June of this year, compared to 35.361 in the corresponding month in 2021, recording an increase of 242,6 percent.
