The event was the first outcome of the agreement reached between the Ministry of Transport, Communications and Works and the European Space Agency (ESA) in July.
The five-year agreement is expected to result in the promotion of innovation and research while also educating local engineers and scientists to adopt ESA programmes and prepare the Mediterranean country in the most efficient manner, thereby maximising the potential for future accession to the ESA Convention.
