The athletes brought home four gold medals, two silver medals and two bronze medals having competed against athletes from 26 Mediterranean countries.
In a written address, Anastasiades said, “It would be no exaggeration to say they have written another bright page in our country’s sports history.”
The success comes ahead of Cyprus’ participation in the fourth annual European Week of Sport, taking place from September 23 – 30.
With #BeActive as its theme, it aims to encourage Europeans to be more active in sports of all levels. Cyprus is amongst the 38 European countries taking part, under the coordination of Cyprus Sports Organisation.
