Cyprus and Israel Agree on Sports Cooperation

On February 27, Cyprus and Israel signed a declaration of sports sector cooperation, during a meeting between Cyprus Sports Organisation (CSO) and the Sports Authority of the Ministry of Culture and Sport, Israel.

"With the signing of this declaration we confirm the strong ties of friendship and cooperation and above all, we declare our interest in the continuation, expansion and development of these relations within the sports’ sector,” commented Dimitris Leontis, vice president, CSO.

The agreement covers the period 2018-2021 and includes exchanges of expertise and know-how within the fields of athletics and physical education, notably; exchanges of athletes, teams, coaches and athletes with disabilities and training camp participation, promoting and encouraging the representation of women among sports organizations and exchanging expertise and knowledge to eradicate violence, doping and the fight against criminal intervention.
