The January 03 meeting took place during the first ever official visit to Saudi Arabia by a President of the Republic of Cyprus.

Expanded talks between the delegations of the two countries followed the meeting, and bilateral agreements were subsequently signed by government ministers accompanying the president.

Specifically, an Agreement for the avoidance of double taxation and the prevention of tax evasion with regard to income taxation, an executive programme in the civil aviation field, and a memorandum of understanding with regard to political consultations between the Ministries of Foreign Affairs of the two countries.
