Cyprus Revenue from Tourism for May Down

Based on the results of the Passengers Survey carried out by the Statistical Service, Cyprus’s revenue from tourism reached EUR310,5 million in May of this year, recording a minor decrease of 0,2 percent as compared to the corresponding month of 2023 (EUR 311,0 million).

For the period of January – May of this year, revenue from tourism is estimated at EUR 751,2 million compared to EUR 728,6 million in the corresponding period of 2023, recording an increase of 3,1 percent.

The average expenditure per person was EUR736,82 for this May compared to EUR 740,36 in May 2023, recording a decrease of 0,5 percent. Tourists from the UK (the largest tourist market with 39,8 percent of the total tourists in May) spent on average EUR 83,18 per day, while tourists from Israel (the second largest market during the specific month with 7,9 percent of the total tourists) spent on average EUR161,66. Tourists from Poland (the third largest market with 7,6 percent), spent on average EUR86,40 per day.
