Two species of sea turtles breed on the beaches of Cyprus, the Green Turtle (Chelonia mydas and the Caretta caretta). In the Mediterranean, Green Turtles breed almost exclusively in Cyprus and Turkey. Caretta gives birth in Greece and in smaller numbers and in other Mediterranean countries.

Costa Smeralda, Costa Cruises’ flagship, left the port of Savona May 01, for a week-long cruise in Italy.
