Deputy Department of Tourism Cyprus Visited Saudi Arabia and the UAE

A delegation of the Cyprus Deputy Ministry of Tourism, headed by Savvas Perdios, deputy minister, visited Saudi Arabia and Dubai on November 18-21.

During the visit, the delegation focused on developing Cyprus-Saudi Arabia connectivity, promoting issues of common interest in collaboration with the Saudi Commission for Tourism and National Heritage, as well as evaluating the tourist prospects of this market.

On the issue of connectivity, meetings were held with airlines Saudia and flynas in Saudi Arabia, as well as flydubai and Etihad based in the UAE, with encouraging results.

Concerning the meeting with the Committee on Tourism and National Heritage of Saudi Arabia, issues of mutual interest were discussed with the expansion of the sale of common tourism packages, the development of tourism investment in Cyprus and others.

Finally, regarding the evaluation of this market, the delegation found that it was a promising source of a high-quality tourist flow and a relatively young population (50 percent under the age of 30).

Upon completion of the visit, Perdios expressed his satisfaction with the results of the contacts made and stressed that the Saudi Arabian market presents significant prospects, as they are people who value warm hospitality and natural beauty, providing information generously.
