Cyprus Increase in Revenue from Tourism for October 2018

On the basis of the results of the Cyprus Passenger Survey, revenue from tourism reached EUR293,8 million in October 2018 compared to EUR277,1 million in the corresponding month of 2017, recording an increase of six percent.

For the period of January – October 2018 revenue from tourism is estimated at EUR2,562,3 million compared to EUR2,493,8 million in the corresponding period of 2017, recording an increase of 2,7 percent.

The expenditure per person for October 2018 reached EUR677,60 compared to EUR681,05 in the corresponding month of 2017, recording a decrease of 0,5 percent.

The expenditure per person/per day for October 2018 compared to October 2017 recorded an increase of four percent (from EUR73,23 to EUR76,13). A decrease of 4,3 percent was recorded in the average length of stay, from 9,3 days in October 2017 to 8,9 days in October 2018.

The expenditure per person for the period of January – October 2018 reached EUR697,54 compared to EUR731,63 in the corresponding period of the 2017, recording a decrease of 4,7 percent. The expenditure per person/per day for the period of January – October 2018 compared to the period of January – October 2017 also recorded a decrease of 1,5 percent (from EUR77,01 to EUR75,82).
