An official announcement from the Board hailed the move as being of “exceptional strategic importance, not only to Paphos but for all of Cyprus,” as it was anticipated to significantly contribute to developing tourism, commerce and the property sector.
“Pafos Regional Board of Tourism is particularly happy that Ryanair has filled some of the gaps in air connectivity and ‘grabbed’ this business opportunity,” added the announcement.
Noting that Paphos’ tourism industry was on the up, the Board said the new route would be carried out four times a week, creating the possibility of over 25,000 new arrivals between March 27 and October.
