Olympic Lagoon Resort Paphos has been voted by UK travel industry professionals among the top 10 hotels in the category of Best Family Hotels worldwide during the annual survey conducted by a renowned UK publication. Travel agents throughout the UK travel industry were asked to vote for hotels that they and their clients consider being their favourites, in 10 different categories.

Aiming to promote the country’s cultural heritage, while also encouraging the development of sustainable tourism, Pafos Regional Board of Tourism has recently participated in the 10th International Conference for Cultural Tourism in Europe.

With the city gearing up to welcome a high number of visitors this winter, Pafos Regional Board of Tourism has invited all tourism businesses including hoteliers, travel agents and owners of leisure centres to invest into turning the coastal city into an all year-round destination.

According to Paphos Regional Board of Tourism, the coastal city has the capacity to accommodate more than 200,000 visitors during the winter period December – March 2018, with 11,000 beds to be in full operation during the season.

Aiming to promote the city through its myths, traditions, history, religion and people, as well as highlighting its status as the European Capital of Culture 2017, Cyprus Press and Information Office in collaboration with Pafos2017 organised a street photography exhibition under the theme Pafos, A Work of Art.

As part of its strategy to further boost sports tourism in Cyprus, while also enabling local athletes to participate in global events, Pafos Regional Board of Tourism has recently unveiled plans to provide symbolic financial support to two local athletes.

Following the recent award of 13 Blue Flags, Paphos has recently won a Gold Quality Award as a top Sustainable Coastal Tourist Destination for 2017.

As part of its efforts to constantly upgrade Paphos’ online resources while also promoting the city as an ideal all-year round destination for tourists, Pafos Regional Board of Tourism has recently launched a number of innovative initiatives, including  Paphos Region Map.  

According to Cyprus Department for Land and Surveys, national property sales during the first half of this year (H1) significantly rose, with Paphos leading the way with 35.4 percent of the country’s international sales.

Pafos Regional Board of Tourism participated the inaugural meeting of Cultural Routes as Investment for Growth and Jobs (Cult-RInG) project which was held in Thessaloniki on June 21.
