Since tourism is the most crucial sector of Cyprus’ economy, Angelos Loizou, chairman, Cyprus Tourism Organisation (CTO), explains what has been achieved in the tourism sector during the last decade.

The presentation of Survey of Tourists’ Departures, Summer, conducted by NOVERNA Research & Analytics, was held for the Cyprus Tourism Organisation (CTO) on November 14, at the Philoxenia congress centre.

Viniculture has been well established in Cyprus for over 6,000 years, with the island holding the distinction of being home to the oldest named wine still in production, Commandaria.

Aiming to increase awareness of the potential of mountain tourism, Cyprus Tourism Organisation (CTO), in collaboration with Troodos Development Company (ANET), recently organised a seminar in Kyperounta. 

Following an agreement signed in 2015 between Cyprus Tourism Organisation (CTO) and Seniorenreisen, an Austrian travel agent and a subsidiary company of the Austrian Pensioners Association, more than 7,000 senior Austrian visitors travelled to Cyprus.

On February 08 an event was held at the house of the high commissioner of Great Britain, focussing on the role and function of the Cyprus Safer Tourism Platform.
