Hermes Airports continues its commitment to sustainable development by advancing two major initiatives that strengthen its sustainability strategy. Through innovative technologies and international partnerships, the company aims to further reduce the environmental footprint of Larnaca and Paphos airports by adopting green practices.

Hermes Airports has become the only airport operator to hold Platinum Accreditation in both People and Wellbeing, from Investors in People.

September ended on a positive note regarding passenger traffic at Larnaca and Paphos Airports.

Hermes Airports has launched a new programme with a view to facilitate relaxation for stressed passengers prior to their flights, as well as, to encourage adoptions from dog shelters.

The year 2023 concluded with a positive sign for tourism in Cyprus, as passenger traffic at Cyprus airports recorded more than 11.6 million passengers, with an average of 32,000 passengers per day (41K/summer, 18K/winter). Passenger traffic in 2023 had an increase of three percent compared to 2019, marking the best performance ever recorded at Cyprus Airports.

The first half (H1) of this year concluded on a positive note in terms of passenger traffic at Cyprus' airports, with a significant three percent increase compared to the corresponding period in 2019 and a total of 4,808,431 passengers. Specifically, during January-June 2023, 3,252,612 passengers travelled from Larnaca airport, while 1,555,819 passengers travelled from Paphos airport.

Jazeera Airways, Kuwait’s leading low cost carrier recently added Larnaca in Cyprus to its network of new European destinations for the 2023 summer season.

Hermes Airports has achieved the Gold Accreditation of Investors in People (IIP) for the well-being practices implemented by the organisation.

The best performing February ever at Cyprus Airports, was this February with a 10 percent increase in comparison to the passenger traffic of February in 2019, a record year in terms of passenger traffic. In total, more than 454,000 passengers travelled to and from Larnaca and Paphos airports.

Hermes has recently published its first Sustainability Report for 2021, implementing a structured monitoring system whilst incorporating international practices with operational and environmental responsibility.
