World Travel & Tourism Council’s (WTTC) 24th Global Summit in Perth (Boorloo), Western Australia, recently took place with an update to its ground-breaking environmental footprint data. Jazeera Airways, Kuwait’s leading low-cost carrier, on October 18 announced the launch of its winter schedule, featuring two weekly flights between Kuwait and Larnaca. Cyprus tourist arrivals reached 509.463 in September of this year compared to 487.350 in September 2023, recording an increase of 4,5 percent. September ended on a positive note regarding passenger traffic at Larnaca and Paphos Airports. During the second quarter of this year, guests spent 208.8 million nights in short-term rental accommodation in the EU, booked via Airbnb, Booking, Expedia Group or TripAdvisor. This corresponds to an increase of 16.2 percent compared with the same period in 2023. Based on the results of the passengers survey carried out by the Statistical Service, Cyprus revenue from tourism reached EUR474,0 million in July of this year, recording an increase of 4,3 percent as compared to the corresponding month of 2023 (EUR454,6 million).
