On June 25 the international shipping community celebrates annually the ‘Day of the Seafarer’, which was set by the International Maritime Organisation (IMO) in 2011.

A total number of 135,661 residents of Cyprus returned from a trip abroad in May of this year, compared to 23,251 in the corresponding month in 2021, recording an increase of 483,5 percent.

The main countries from which the residents of Cyprus returned this May, were the UK with 25,3 percent, Greece with 25 percent, Germany with 4,7 percent and Italy with 4,6 percent. 

The Cyprus arrivals of tourists reached 315,018 in May of this year compared to 100,852 arrivals that were recorded in May 2021.
