Institute of Environmental and Public Health Hosts Planetary Health Event

For the first time in Cyprus, an event on Planetary Health, themed Global Health and our Health, was held in the presence of key industry stakeholders.

The aim of the May 21 event was to highlight the links between global and human health, putting forward concrete solutions based on the principles of sustainable development.

The event, which took place at Strovolos Town Hall, was organised by the Cyprus International Institute for Environmental and Public Health of the Cyprus University of Technology and Ioanna Panagiotou, environmental commissioner, Cyprus.

"Environmental pollution, industrial development, and climate change are among the most important factors that are generally linked to global health and have an impact on human health as well," commented Panagiotou.
