The visit was an opportunity for mutual acquaintance during which reference was made to the historical relations and ties of the two places.

At the same time, reference was made to various issues related to the fields of culture, tourism and investment with particular reference to issues of shipping and marine research.

The mayor of Larnaca explained to the ambassador the important role of the Cyprus Marine & Marine Institute (CMMI) and the synergies he has developed around the world and discussed ways of possible cooperation with respective centres in Greece.
