For the seventh consecutive year, European Best Destinations selected 20 candidates for the coveted title, with Zadar, Croatia coming out on top, followed by Athens, Greece and Plovdiv, Bulgaria.

The organisers highlighted Nicosia’s culturally and historically rich, serene yet cosmopolitan atmosphere as its main competitive advantages, which have helped the Cypriot capital land the 15th position.
